When we released the second version of our CAL 1003 movement, we also began producing several of the components we machined in the Los Angeles area inside our own studio instead. These tiny components come off this large machine.
Pictured above, our engineer is setting up a new part for manufacture on our lathe. The lathe machines smaller components, such as pinions and screws.
The 9 axis lathe is extremely precise.
After a component is machined, we then measure each component using a microscope to make sure it is within tolerance before final finishing and moving the component into assembly.
