The alarm beeps at 4:30 AM, and I'm grateful the lume on my watch guides me as I step out of bed to begin my morning. After fueling up, I hop on my bike and set off for a cycling session, catching the sunrise and listening to the symphony of wildlife coming to life. Just the other morning, I was lucky enough to spot an owl. As I ride, I set my intention for the day ahead.

Back home, I shower, cook breakfast for the girls, and then hop into the Red Land Rover Defender to take them to school. We cruise along the freeway, winding through rural roads and down a gravel path to drop them off for another magical day of learning.

With the morning rush behind me, I return to work, where the unseen tasks of running a business await—component management, packaging, accounting—each facet time-consuming and crucial. After tackling emails, I enjoy a quiet moment on the patio with my coffee before heading to the bench.

At the bench, I immerse myself in our latest creation, a special collaboration with Imogene+Willie, in celebration of their 15th birthday.

The process of crafting this watch is both meticulous and time-intensive, a true labor of love that reflects the precision and dedication we pour into each piece.

First, I carefully prepare the movement, ensuring that each of its components is perfectly aligned. This involves not just assembling the parts, but also jeweling the movement—a delicate process where I set each jewel into place to reduce friction and ensure the longevity of the watch. Every jewel is positioned with absolute precision, as even the slightest misalignment can affect the watch’s performance.

Once the movement is prepared, I turn my attention to the dial. This is where the personality of the watch truly comes to life. Placing the hands onto the dial requires a steady hand and a sharp eye; each hand must be perfectly aligned to ensure accurate timekeeping. It’s a process that demands patience, as rushing it could compromise the entire piece. The dial is then carefully placed onto the movement, with each element aligning seamlessly to create the final composition.

As I work, I’m reminded of the time and care that goes into every watch we create. From the first assembly of the movement to the final placement of the hands, the process can take hours, even days, depending on the complexity of the design. But this is what makes each Weiss timepiece special—knowing that it has been crafted with the utmost care and precision, down to the smallest detail.

Finally, the watch is assembled and carefully inspected, ensuring that every element is functioning perfectly. Only then is it ready to leave the bench, a testament to the craftsmanship and passion that defines our work.
