The shells endure a 6-month tanning process at Horween, the oldest operating tannery in America. Skilled artisans tan, stuff, polish, steep in vegetable liquors, hand curry, and hand shave each piece of shell. Each strap is individually handmade in the USA by expert leather craftsmen. Since each one is handcrafted, each strap has its own unique characteristics from the tanning process and handmade nature of the product. The strap is designed for comfort, style, and is made specially to fit the Field Watch with 20mm lug size and an 18mm 316 stainless steel buckle.

Compared to other leather straps I've had I feel like this is actually very good value for how high quality it is. I have one on my Omega Speedmaster and Weiss Field Watch (blue dial) and they both look phenomenal in my opinion. I expect it will last me much longer than 6 months. Smells good too!
These are some of the nicest leather straps found anywhere.
The navy shell cordovan really sets off the dial on the latte field watch! It reminds me of my childhood when cordovan leather was more widely used. My dad had many pairs of dress shoes made from cordovan. In any event, thank you Weiss for a superb strap to accompany my 42 mm field watch!
Not too thick, not too thin but just right. Very well constructed. I got the natural and expect it will darken with time. It's the little touches like including new posts that set a company apart.
Just gets more comfortable over time
