  • The Details

Inspired by Cameron Weiss’ dives into the Pacific Ocean and quests through the Sierra Nevada, this timeless piece defies the elements and withstands the test of time – trust us. Produced by hand with over 100 Swiss parts, it’s sure to become a trusted heirloom.

  • The Materials

To us, staying true to our roots is key. And when we created the 38MM Standard Issue Field, we kept that in mind. We incorporated details like black oxide-treated hands, luminescent Super-Luminova paint that looks as clear in the dark as it does in the light, and naval brass dials for a luxurious-yet-artisanal finish. Hand-polished surgical grade 316L stainless steel and sapphire crystals add an elevated finish. The most popular pairing for our black dial is a durable, waterproof canvas strap that keeps things cool and comfortable.

38mm Standard Issue Field Watch

Nothing "Standard" About This Field Watch

To appreciate the 38mm Standard Issue Field watch, you need to see it in person. That’s when you’ll understand why these Weiss watches are so unique. The dial, the hands, and the movement are crafted with meticulous detail. The quality is unmistakable. If you’re reading reviews because you’re wondering whether to buy this watch sight unseen, you owe it to yourself to place that order now.

I’ve been collecting mechanical watches for more than 20 years and have owned some of the world’s most known brands (including Rolex and Omega). Weiss watches caught my attention because I wanted simplicity and durability— with a touch of elegance and uniqueness. The Standard Issue Field Watch has all of that and more. It looks and feels as great on a hiking trip as it does with a suit on a business trip. Since the day it arrived, I found myself constantly staring at the beautiful dial. I even look at it on the night table from my bed to see the impressive bluish green lume. Meanwhile, the Rolex I used to wear daily sits on its winder.

Excellent ! My Best Watch !

I've had my 38mm Standard Issue for about one month now. I am extremely happy with it. I opted for the white dial, and the attention to detail on the entire watch is excellent. It is my best watch, and I own many. The devil is in the details. When I look thru a magnifying glass at the dial, exhibition case, movement, it's a pleasure to see the high craftsmanship. It keeps excellent time, running about +2 a day. My only wish would be for hacking, but this watch does not have that. Will I purchase another ? I'm not sure, due to the high cost, but I'll never part with the one I have, it's a keeper. I hope to keep it for many years.

A risk worth taking

As a sight unseen purchase. The risk of venturing below 40mm turned out to be minimal. I have a 7.25” wrist and by no means does the watch look out of place. I am in the camp of date windows are a must have, check. I do use it as a field watch as it hides under every cuff or sleeve. Even a tight surf shirt has a hard time not slipping up, exposing the watch. Amazing light fit on my wrist. I just finished a 20 day field excursion which wasn’t all work and the watch NEVER left my wrist. I have an ADPT pass through for field work and I cannot wait to put that buttery smooth leather band back on for date night with the lady. Through 85 degree tropical days, red jungle clay, and walking through the thick stuff the watch remained as it was when I bought it, shiny and scratch free. The dial lum lasts through the night. It isn’t diver bright but will always shine for a 0400 time check.

The watch survived multiple surf sessions, freedives, 3 runs a week, cliff jumps, and a 8,000ft peak. Just another work trip. The average was +1.7 sec per day of deviation.

Now the bad. The lugs are sharp and flat. I snarled our new sheets with the edge of a lug. Over the last five months the edges have naturally rounded but out of the box it was a weapon! A curved lug profile and refined edges are a small gripe but still a feature to be aware of.

Does the watch ever leave my wrist? Yes, be real. Does it call from the watch case as the most relevant watch to wear? Of course because it is. Swap the band and suit up or get dirty with some canvas, its ready, the Weiss family are amazing people, and I am honored to have a watch.
